Weekly Charters:
August 6th to August 12th, 2023
Four Fishing Charters were ran this week. The beginning of the week started out slow and ended with a bang. All week was a tough Lady Fish bite. We could find the Lady Fish, but they just wouldn’t seem to stay on the hook. This time of year can be very touchy, the water can be too hot or absolutely perfect. It really comes down to just being in the right pace at the right time.
The first fishing charter was slow, but thank god for the trout bite. The Sea Trout tend to run around the same area as the lady fish and normally if you find the Trout, you can usually bet the Lady Fish won’t be far behind. Today was the exception, and if the clients wanted to keep fish we would have limited out on the Sea Trout. No Red Fish or Snook on this fishing charter, and only two lady fish.
The second fishing charter this week kind of started the same as the first, but with a few more Lady Fish. We got on some lady fish, and then the bite died right down. We hit all the normal hot spots and didn’t catch a thing until the last spot. I am starting to wonder if I should change the charter name to Last Spot Charters. We caught a beauty of a Red Fish, making the clients very happy.
The third charter this week, was a absolute banger. The Lady Fish bite was a little slow, but we caught enough to take on the charter. We almost limited out on Sea Trout and after we had a couple Lady Fish in the boat we went off for the big fish. We caught a total of four Reds, with the first three being over slot. AGAIN at the last spot we finally caught our keeper red for the clients coming in at 25inches.
The fourth and final charter started slow and ended on fire. Yet again last spot of the day produces. We had a rough start with only a couple Lady Fish and none of the hot spot producing Reds or Snook. Then at the last stop, the clients were able to reel in a tournament winning Snook, measuring in at 39 inches and a big Red Fish over slot. over all it was a successful week.
