Weekly Charters:

February 20th, 2024 to March 1st, 2024

Fishing charters for the last two weeks of February were hot and then not and then back to hot again, if you know what I mean. It was still full swing of winter fishing and the weather did not want to heat up at all for us. Some days were fire and some days were slower. One More Charters always caught fish, but those big monsters would elude us at times.

All winter the trout bite has been hot and it stayed strong for the last couple weeks of February. Lady fish were still back in the bayou and running with smaller spotted Seatrout. Sheep Head stayed consistent under bridges and the crabs were the best bait for them. The big Red Drum and Snook in my area were touch and go and then turned on towards the end of the month. We caught some of the bigger breeder Snook right as the weather started to warm up. Reds seem to be coming back as long as the weather stays good, meaning warm. The very last two days of the month Spanish Mackerel started to enter in johns pass and those are really fun to catch when you find them.

Over all the fishing has been getting a heck of a lot better, lets hope the weather keeps getting warmer and the fish keep biting.
