Weekly Charters:
February 1st to 18th, 2024
The first two and a half weeks of fishing charters for February have been steady. The lady Fish bite has been solid every day, which is fantastic cuz that means we have bait.
I started a little late mind you making a stop under bridges fishing for Sheep Head. I found a very good oyster bed with an abundance of sand crabs. These little guys are hard work to get but also very fun. You have to dig under oyster beds to find them and they are quick little crabs. The Sheep Head absolutely destroy them though and this has been giving clients a variety of fish to catch on the fishing charters.
The Snook bite has been slow because of the consistent cold weather. The Red Drum bite has been decent. We are catching a lot of little Reds back in the bayou and some big ones out in the intercostal at my go to spots. The Spotted Sea trout bit has been the best, we have been able to catch the little ones, and big ones very consistently.
Over all the first couple weeks have been good. Still waiting for the warm front to come through and stay here. Once that hits, the bite is going to turn on and we will be back in business.
