Tournament Week

This week every year is the Ladies fishing tournament, where I take my mom and soon to be wife out for a long and full day of fishing. The bite was a little strange this year on tournament day. It was up and down, it started off great with a under slot snook at 27 inches and then the bite slowed down for a few hours. Around 1 o clock we decided to go back and try one of our regular spots for a second time that day. right when all the poles were set, a rod bent over. Right away we knew it was a big fish. My mom fought it for about 5 minutes and we successfully brought in a 38 and 1/2 inch Snook. I knew that this was at least a top three fish for the tournament and would be very surprised if it was not. We successfully did our photo release and the fish swam off healthy. We went to weigh in and much to our surprise the fish took first place and Mom received her first place plaque and a nice check.

Also I took out a charter at the beginning of the week and Cam reeled in a beautiful Red Fish of 27 and a quarter inch, which was just over slot and we successfully released the fish back into the water after some pictures.

Lets keep this bite up into this week.
