Weekly Charters:

July 24th, 2023 to July 30th, 2023

This week One More Charters had four fishing charters and it was a very hot week. The bait was out in full force, but the bite was slow slow slow. The Lady fish were hit or miss all through out the intercostal, and later in the week I have found out where they have been, all out in the gulf about 10 to 20 miles out. We still caught them, but they were not heavy like they normally are this time of year in the intercostal. That’s fishing for you, some weeks are good and some weeks are bad. This was not a total bust of a week though, we still caught fish and had a great time on the water.

First fishing charter was the only bust of the week. We got out on a good amount of lady fish and then went for the big guys Red, Snook, and Trout. It was a slow slow day, consisting of nothing but the trash catfish. still fun to catch for some, but not what we are looking for.

Second fishing charter of the week went better, we got out on the lady fish. At the very first spot I got my client his first Snook and biggest fish he has ever reeled in. This bad boy was a whomping 38 1/2 inch stud. After that the bite slowed down though.

Number three on the week, started off with just a couple lady fish. Then when we headed off to the first spot, we only had to sit for about five minutes before the action started. The only bad thing is we hooked up on beautiful snook back to back within about 15 minutes of each other. Here is the heartbreaker though, we got the first snook within 5 feet of the boat just about to net her and she spit the hook right before our eyes. The second snook we fought for about three minutes before she took the drag all the way up to the mangroves and broke us off. Last spot of the day however produced a beautiful 27 inch snook, which we finally landed.

The fourth and final fishing charter of the week, was a extremely hot one. We found the lady fish and at the second stop for Reds, Snook, and Trout we landed our client and beautiful Snook. if the season would have been open we could have kept the bad boy. This was the only fish the client wanted to catch, as he never had caught a Snook before, so that was very satisfying.

Over all slow week, but as they say any slow day on the water fishing is better than any day on land working. its a LIVIN KIND OF LIFESTYLE.
